Our History
For over two decades, Dr. Lydia Adamu-Justin (aka Dr Lee) has been a steadfast advocate for educational advancement in Nigeria. Her unwavering commitment to fostering learning opportunities laid the foundation for The Dr Lee Educational Foundation. Established in 2022 in Nigeria and subsequently in 2023 in the United States, our organization was born out of a deep-seated dedication to addressing the pressing financial and educational challenges faced by many.
In March 2023, the USA branch achieved a significant milestone by formally obtaining Non-Profit 501(c)3 status. This marked a pivotal moment in our journey, as it positioned the USA branch as the primary administrative center, tasked with fundraising and overseeing administrative needs. With four founding members in the USA providing strategic guidance and seven boots-on-the-ground founding members in Nigeria, our organization is a harmonious blend of global perspectives and local expertise.
As we reflect on our history, we are proud of the strides we've made in honoring Dr. Lydia's legacy. The fusion of passion, experience, and a shared commitment to education drives our mission forward.
